CASA DE CLARA
Casa de Clara is a house of hospitality in the Catholic Worker tradition, for homeless women, and women with children. It has provided emergency shelter to homeless women and children for over 30 years. It provides a warm, safe, homelike shelter for six to eight individuals. While residents are looking for more permanent housing, a job, or other community resources, they are welcome to a place to stay, meals, and other help the community can provide. Guests are welcome to stay on a two week basis. Extensions are granted on an as-need basis.
St Julie’s has a long history (25+years) supporting this ministry as volunteer cooks. There are five teams of cooks that contribute a casserole, salad, dessert or money for a meal each month. Please consider helping just once a month. If you would like to join the cook's team or make a donation, please contact Chrissie Griffith at 408-578-6088 or call the Parish office.
